YSU Penguins football is getting ready for another season this Saturday against the Pittsburgh Panthers.This Week at YSU

Monday, Sept. 3. Labor Day. YSU closed.

Tuesday, Sept. 4, 7 p.m. The women’s volleyball team takes on Robert Morris in Beeghly Center.

Wednesday, Sept. 5, 7 p.m. The YSU Wind Ensemble opens its fall 2012 performance season with a free outdoor concert at in the Warren Amphitheatre in downtown Warren. Read more on the YSU Wind Ensemble here.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Sept. 6, 7 and 8, 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 9, 3 p.m. University Theater opens its 2012-13 season with “Dark Matters” in Spotlight Arena Theater in Bliss Hall. Read more.

Thursday, Sept. 6, 7 p.m. The 10th annual Youngstown Area Jewish Film Festival, sponsored by the YSU Center for Judaic and Holocaust Studies, opens with a screening of “Kaddish for a Friend” at USA Cinema in Niles. The festival continues Sunday, Sept. 9, 7 p.m.,  with “Brothers” at Temple El Emeth, 3970 Logan Way, Youngstown: Read more on the 2012 Jewish Film Festival.

Saturday, Sept. 8, 4 p.m. After crushing Pitt in the season opener at Heinz Field, the 2012 Penguins football team opens the home season against Valparaiso in Stambaugh Stadium. More at YSU Sports.

Sunday, Sept. 9, 4 p.m. The women’s soccer squad plays Niagara in Stambaugh Stadium.
