YSU marks Homecoming 2013 this week

The YSU Marching Pride will lead the way at the 2013 Homecoming Parade on Fifth Avenue on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Youngstown State University celebrates Homecoming 2013 this week with a full array of events, food and activities, beginning Monday, Oct. 14, and concluding Saturday, Oct. 19, with the annual parade and football game.

Tailgating sponsored by the Student Government Association begins at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the parade at 2 p.m. on Fifth Avenue and the game against Western Illinois at 4 p.m. in Stambaugh Stadium.

Monday, Oct. 14

  • SGA Monday Morning Kick Start- Free Coffee, 7:30 to 10 a.m., Kilcawley Center/Campus Core.
  • Photo Booth, “Memory Strips” and a Mechanical Bull, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Kilcawley Center/Campus Core.
  • Carmstrong Bocce for Hope, Bocce Tournament. 5 p.m., MVR.

Tuesday, Oct. 15

  • Caricature Artist, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Kilcawley Center/Campus Core.
  • Rookery Radio Live, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Kilcawley Center/Campus Core.
  • Homecoming Cook-out, 5 to 8 p.m., Newman Center.

Wednesday, Oct. 16

  • Dunkin’ Donuts Munchkin Eating Contest, 5 to 7 a.m., Kilcawley Center/Upper Lobby.
  • YSU Red and White Day, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Kilcawley Center/Lower Arcade.
  • Human Spheres, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Kilcawley Center/Campus Core.

Thursday, Oct. 17

  • HOT-101 Live broadcast, 6 to 10 a.m., Kilcawley Center/Lower Arcade.
  • Quaker Steak Wing Eating Contest, noon, Kilcawley Center/Stationary Table.
  • Cheerleading Competition, 6 p.m., Stambaugh Gymnasium.

Friday, Oct. 18
