Monday, March 18, 9 to 10:30 am. The International Trade Assistance Center at YSU and the Business Resource Network host an International Round Table at the BRN offices on Boardman-Canfield Road in Boardman. More here.

Tuesday, March 19, 1 p.m. YSU conducts a news conference to announce a major award for Williamson Hall, home to the Williamson College of Business Administration. The event will be in the atrium of Williamson Hall. A panel discussion titled “Innovative Practices in Building and Furnishing a Green Building” will be held at noon, Tuesday, March 19, in the auditorium of Williamson Hall.

Tuesday, March 19, 7 p.m.  The film “Miss Representation” will be screened, followed by discussion in the Jones Room of Kilcawley Center on the YSU campus. The award-winning documentary film explores the media’s misrepresentations of women in positions of power and influence. The event is part of YSU’s celebration of Women’s History Month.

Tuesday, March 19, 7:05 p.m. YSU men’s basketball team hosts a first round game in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament in Beeghly Center. It’s YSU’s first postseason tournament appearance since joining the NCAA Division I ranks in 1981-82. More information at www.ysusports.com.

Wednesday, March 20, 12:15 p.m. Musical theater is the focus of the free Music at Noon concert in the Butler Institute of American Art.

Wednesday, March 20, 12:15 p.m. YSU graduate Patricia Mishic, vice president and chief marketing officer for A. Schulman Inc., addresses students and business representatives as part of the Williamson Symposium Lecture Series at YSU.  Open sessions will also be held at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the auditorium of Williamson Hall. Thursday, March 21, 12:05 p.m. Oakland plays the YSU women’s tennis squad in the Boardman Tennis Center.

Thursday, March 21, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. The YSU Gerontology program, the Ohio Respite Coalition, Benjamin Rose Institute, Easter Seals, the Ohio Department of Aging, and the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater East Ohio Chapter are hosting a caregiver summit  in the conference center of Williamson Hall. Thursday, March 21, 7 p.m. Poetry and fiction reading by Marge Piercy in McKay Auditorium, Beeghly Hall on the YSU campus. Piercy is the author of 17 novels, including the New York Times bestseller Gone to Soldiers. Her book He, She and It received the Arthur C. Clark Award for Best Science Fiction. The event is part of YSU’s celebration of Women’s History Month.

Friday, March 22, noon. Panel discussion on “Women Against Violence Everywhere” in the Jones Room, Kilcawley Center on the YSU campus. Malinda Gavins from Sojourner House Domestic Violence Services, Lynn Bilal from the Rape Crisis and Counseling Center, and Johanna Slivinske from the YSU Department of Social Work and PsyCare participate. The event is part of YSU’s celebration of Women’s History Month.

Friday, March 22, 2 p.m. The Dana School of Music hosts a guest artist Master Class featuring Naoki Hakutani, piano, in Bliss Recital Hall. The class is free and open to the public. Participants may park in the Wick Avenue deck for a nominal fee. More here.

Friday, March 22, 3 p.m. The YSU baseball team opens its home season against Chicago State. The teams match-up again at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23, and 1 p.m. Sunday, March 24.

Saturday, March 23, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor sponsors an Antiques Appraisal Show. More here.

Saturday, March 23, 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The women’s softball squad plays Loyola at McCune Park in Canfield. The teams play again 11 a.m. Sunday, March 24, also at McCune.
