YSU grad presents Williamson Symposium Lecture
Youngstown State University graduate Patricia Mishic, vice president and chief marketing officer for A. Schulman Inc., will address students and business representatives at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, as part of the Williamson Symposium Lecture Series at YSU.
The luncheon lecture in Williamson Hall is titled “Dancing the Corporate Entrepreneurship Tango: Lessons Learned.”

Mishic, appointed to her current position in January 2012, is responsible for overseeing A. Schulman Inc.’s global marketing and sales strategy, coordinating global technical activities and managing the company’s Growth Playbook, which includes driving new product development, developing new markets and establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships. A. Schulman, Inc. is a leading international supplier of high-performance plastic compounds and resins headquartered in Akron.
Previously, Mishic was the global director of Marketing Excellence for the Performance Materials and Performance Plastics Divisions of the Dow Chemical Co., based in Midland, Mich. She joined Dow in 2000 as an executive from the health care sector and since then held a series of global new marketing, business development and business management roles for INTACTA Polyurethane gloves. In 2002, she was named the global new business development manager for Industrial Chemicals. In 2004, she assumed the role of global NBD/senior marketing manager for Water Soluble Polymers – Industrial Specialties/Dow Dispersions Science, and in September 2006 assumed additional responsibilities as global market team leader for Industrial Specialties. In 2007, she assumed the role of director of Sales for Paper and Carpet Latex for North American Sales and was responsible for managing the customer portfolio for paper, carpet and performance in North America and managing the sales resources. In 2008, she assumed the role of Global Strategic Marketing and Business Development director for Emulsion Polymers.
In her various roles, she has had responsibilities for aligning global market and technology growth platforms, leading key projects and start-ups and delivering against the growth targets as well as leading global commercial, sales and marketing activities for the respective businesses.
Prior to Dow, Mishic held several senior marketing, business, sales and communications roles in the medical/surgical, light industrial, environmental consulting and construction/transportation industries.
She holds a master’s degree in Business Administration degree from the University of Akron, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration degree from YSU. She also completed the Babson College and IMD Executive Management and Entrepreneurial programs.
