YSU English Festival marks 36th year

Jeff Buchanan, associate professor of English, addresses a packed Chestnut Room during the 36th annual English Festival last week in Kilcawley Center. More than 3,000 middle and high school students from 200 area schools attended the three-day festival. One of the featured guests was C.J. Bott, below, the author of "The Bully in the Book and in the Classroom." Bott served as the 2012 president of ALAN, the assembly of the National Council of Teachers of English fostering adolescent literature. Her website, www.bulliesinbooks.com, offers readers practical advice and links to further reading about bullying.
