Tuesday, July 1. “Colleagues, Students, Boards” is the theme of Jim and Ellen Tressel’s first official day as YSU president and first lady. 7 to 9 a.m., the Tressels invite YSU employees – faculty, staff and administration – to the Pollock House for breakfast refreshments; noon, the Tressels entertain students for a cookout lunch at the Pollock House; 3 to 6 p.m., the President and First Lady welcome members of various university boards (Board of Trustees, Alumni Society, YSU Foundation, Penguin Club) to the Pollock House.

Friday, July 4. University closed.

Through July 26. “Voices of the Valley,” recorded stories about transforming the Mahoning Valley, continues at the McDonough Museum of Art on campus. More here.

Through Aug. 8. The Melnick Medical Museum at YSU hosts a new banner exhibit from the National Library of Medicine called “Literature of Prescription: Charlotte Perkins Gilman and ‘The Yellow Wall-Paper.’ ” The exhibit is in the atrium/café of Cushwa Hall on the YSU campus. More here.
