Check out what's happening this week at Youngstown State University.Monday, Dec. 2, 8 p.m. YSU Dana School of Music piano students perform “Piano X-travaganza – A Piano Christmas Concert” in Bliss Recital Hall. Free and open to the public.

Tuesday, Dec. 3, 3:30 p.m. Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Ronald E. Rosser speaks at the Career Paths Afterschool Program at Niles Middle School, 411 Brown St. in Niles, Ohio. Rosser is a former Army soldier who received the military’s highest decoration for his actions in the Korean War. The YSU Center for Human Services Development serves as the fiscal/grant administrator of the program.

Wednesday, Dec. 4, 12:15 p.m. The YSU Dana School of Music’s Percussion Ensemble performs a free Music at Noon concert in the Butler Institute of American Art.

Wednesday, Dec. 4. Women’s and men’s basketball doubleheader in Beeghly Center. The women take on Miami (Ohio) at 5:15 p.m., followed by the men against Robert Morris at 7:45 p.m. The women also play Cincinnati 2:05 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8. More at www.ysusports.com.

Wednesday, Dec. 4, 7 p.m. The YSU Dana School of Music’s annual holiday music extravaganza, Carols & Cocoa and the Dana Holiday Concert, is at Stambaugh Auditorium. Carols & Cocoa in Stambaugh’s Ballroom features seasonal favorites, culminating in a holiday sing-along. Dana Holiday Concert in the Concert Hall features “Magnificat” and “Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas.” Tickets at the Stambaugh Auditorium Box Office, 330-259-0555 or online www.stambaughauditorium.com. Tickets $10 for adults, $5 for students, senior citizens, and YSU faculty and staff with a valid YSU ID. Free for children under 12 and YSU students with a valid YSU ID.

Thursday, Dec. 5. Experts from NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland visit YSU as part of the “NASA Roadshow,” to provide no-cost engineering consulting for four area companies that are facing technical and manufacturing challenges.

Friday, Dec. 6, 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The YSU Department of Theater and Dance’s Penguin Playhouse and Alpha Psi Omega perform a Holiday Cabaret, in YSU’s Spotlight Theater.

Friday and Saturday, Dec. 6 and 7, 8 p.m. YSU’s Ward Beecher Planetarium shows “Winter Skywatch.” The planetarium also shows “In My Backyard” at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. Free.

Saturday, Dec. 7, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. YSU hosts “JFK and Dallas,” a free seminar on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and its aftermath.
