Chad Whitacre, founder of GitTip, presents a free lecture 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, at Youngstown State University’s McDonough Museum of Art.

The event is sponsored by the YSU Department of Art and the Beecher Center for Art and Technology.

Whitacre is a programmer, hacker, entrepreneur and founder of Gittip.com, a platform for sustainable crowd-funding. An active member of the open source community, Whitacre is the author of the Aspen web framework, as well as tools for mapping and database management. He is also the founder of IHasAMoney.com, a personal finance website for geeks. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Ancient Languages from Wheaton College (IL), and resides in Ambridge, Pa.
