Melissa Wasser named Student Trustee

Melissa Wasser of McDonald, a political science and philosophy major at Youngstown State University, has been named as a student member of the YSU Board of Trustees.

Gov. John Kasich announced the appointment in September. Her two-year term as a trustee will expire in 2014.

Wasser is a 2010 McDonald High School graduate. At YSU, Wasser is a member of the Leslie H. Cochran University Scholars and Honors Program, a representative of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences for the YSU Student Government Association and a member of the Delta Zeta sorority. She also is a YSU student employee, working at the Candy Counter in Kilcawley Center. She has volunteered as a local bowling coach for children for the past five years and has participated in the Shantytown homelessness awareness event and Relay for Life.
