Chet Cooper presents “Last Lecture”

Chet Cooper, professor of Biological Sciences, is the featured speaker in the Last Lecture Series 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in the auditorium of the Williamson College of Business Administration.

The series, sponsored by YSU Student Government, features lectures on university faculty and administrators on the question: “If you could give one final lecture, what would you tell your students?”

Cooper is chair of the YSU Academic Senate, president of the YSU Research Foundation, director of the YSU Center of Excellence in Applied Chemical Biology, faculty athletics representative to the NCAA, advisor to the Student Government Association and a representative on the Ohio Faculty Council. He has 40 peer reviewed publications, 87 published abstracts and 39 invited research presentations. Cooper has secured research funding from and conducted research for the National Science Foundation NASA, Proctor and Gamble, National foundation for Infectious Diseases, American Biotech and Glaxo. He also is a Little League umpire, working the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pa.
