Brazilian students/faculty visit campus

Graduate business students and faculty from the University of Sào Paulo/PROVAR, Brazil, visit Youngstown later this month for their 14th annual business-study tour.

The USP group will be in the Youngstown area from Sunday, Oct. 28, through Thursday, Nov. 1, attending business lectures and area business tours.

The USP students, who are retail executives, will be touring local retail establishments such as Best Buy, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, CVS, Wal-Mart Distribution Center, Sam’s Club, IKEA in Pittsburgh, and Krogers and Cabelas in West Virginia.

Seminars about business-to-business marketing, emerging trends in marketing communication, tools for strategic decision-making, and business perspectives internationally as well as in the U.S. at both the state and local levels will be presented by Youngstown State University faculty during the Brazilians’ visit to the YSU campus.

“We are very excited about our partnership with the University of Sào Paulo and are looking forward to other joint ventures,” said Betty Jo Licata, dean of the Williamson College of Business Administration.

MBA students will be on the YSU campus throughout the week and are available for interviews. This initiative is part of YSU’s Center of Excellence in International Business. The mission of the Center is to create a global learning environment that prepares YSU students to be successful business leaders and provides training, consulting, and research that advances knowledge and practice in international business and supports the economic development of Ohio.
