Jennifer Michael Hecht, author of seven books of history, philosophy and poetry, presents the 2013-14 Dr. Thomas and Albert Shipka Lecture 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center on the Youngstown State University campus.

The lecture, titled “Doubt: A History,” is free and open to the public.

Hecht’s most recent book is Stay: A History of Suicide and the Philosophies Against It. She has written for the New York Times, Washington Post, the Boston Globe and The New Yorker. She holds a PhD in History from Columbia University and currently teaches literature in the MFA program at the New School in New York City.
