600 high schoolers attend Business 2020 at YSU on Nov. 6

Nearly 600 students from 18 high schools throughout the tri-county region will attend Business 2020 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center on the campus of Youngstown State University.

The event is sponsored by YSU’s Williamson College of Business Administration, in conjunction with the Junior Achievement of the Mahoning Valley.

Panel sessions from 10 a.m. to noon will showcase various aspects of business: Entrepreneurship, Careers in Business, Preparing Yourself for the Job Market, and Financial Literacy. More than 20 area leaders from various segments of business will offer insight and information during the concurrent sessions. Some of the participating businesses are: AVI Food Systems; Turning Technologies; PNC Bank; Defense Finance and Accounting Service in Cleveland; Farmers National Bank; Merrill Lynch; Seven Seventeen Credit Union; Huntington Bank; Warren Steel Holdings; and Thread Marketing in Toledo.

Darrell Wallace, executive director of the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute, will speak to students about the developing technology and opportunities for future workers available with the rapidly emerging 3D printing technologies.
